Teachers Who Struck...

The teachers of Modern School Barakhamba Road have gone on a strike. Why??? Because the school management has decided to make every Saturday of the month working. I fully support the teachers because making every Saturday of the month does not really leave any time for enjoyment and relaxation except Sunday on which we would be completing our homework and preapring for our tests. I don't know what has suddenly struck the school management and from where has it got such an idea in its head. The school is functioning perfectly fine and we have been following this pattern for years. The school management is citing an example from Modern School Vasant Vihar which has every Saturday of the month working. Well, the students and the teachers must be used to it as the school has been following this routine for a long time.
What will happen about this mess....only time will tell.

Being an alumni of Modern School, all this is very disturbing. I feel the Management is to blame as they have started to interfere too much in the day to day functioning of the school whereas during our time they took a backstage leaving all important decisions in the hands of the Principal,who is truely the captain of the ship. I feel the school should be run as any modern corporation with the CEO ( here the Principal ) in control over day to day matters. Unless such a situation develops and boundaries are well laid down strikes and other problems will incur frequently. One feels bad when one sees new schools coming up and doing well because they are run professionally and a more than 75 years prestigious institute going to dogs because of somebody's personal ego !

Well Ayush the management has a very vailid reason for having saturday working. Lessers mortals may not appreciate their far sighted ness. They with their experience have seen that with 5 day week you cannot produce Newtons or Einsteins, it is high time that Modern school did something,
