Dilli Darshan

Sorry folks....no time to update my blog....but now I"l try my best!!!

So, I'm going to relate to you an incident on Father's Day. Father's Day was nothing special in any way. We(my bro and me) gifted Dad a small token and that was just about it. We decided that we will go out for dinner in the evening. In the evening we all set out for dinner not dressed up or anything but were in smart casuals as they call it. We were dining at the Air Force Club. There are two restaurants there, one inside and the other one was outside. We were making our way to the inside one when the manager stopped us because my brother and I were not dressed up in shirts ot T-shirts with collar. I was a tad surprised. I mean how much could it matter?? But as it was a rule we decided to abide by it. We searched for a table and finally got seated on the only one available. We were told the same thing here as well and we came to a conclusion that it was best not to dine here and the next time we''ll come adequately dressed for the meal. We decided on going to Pandara Road as it was famous for its many restaurants serving almost all kind of cuisine. But as fate had it just as we reached we saw such a rush of people and cars outside that we decided against eating there. The next choice was CP. When we reached CP we wanted to try Nirulas Potpourri, a new branch of Nirulas which was a proper restaurant unlike the other fast food outlets. It was serving Continental and Indian cuisine. But even there, there was 15-20 minutes waiting. My father was aghast. What he wanted was peaceful meal with good food and good ambience. What a Father's Day it had been for him! Driving through the mad rush of traffic with just about no space for parking was not what he had set out for. Just next door was a chain of Subway and we finally had our meal there as it was the only restaurant which was partially empty except the coffee shops. Though we enjoyed our meal there my only thought after this eventful evening was that Delhites have started dining out a lot these days. The fact that it was a Sunday evening also worked in favour but still finding so many restaurants full was indeed shocking.

Next time though we''ll go in time and maybe even have to make a reservation at the restaurant we want to dine at!!! Times have changed....
